Automated News for Expats

AutomationAICurationJapanNews
01
Overview

Important things happen in Japan that English speakers never hear about. Policy changes affecting foreign residents, natural disasters, immigration law updates, economic shifts — they're reported extensively in Japanese media and almost never translated.

J.apan.News monitors thousands of Japanese-language news sources and uses AI to identify stories that are relevant to the expat community. It translates, summarises, and categorises them — so you get the news that matters, without having to read Japanese.

Built as a fully automated curation pipeline with minimal human intervention, the system runs continuously and publishes throughout the day.

01

Continuous Monitoring

Thousands of Japanese news sources monitored around the clock, with new relevant stories surfaced as they break.

02

AI Relevance Filtering

Not every Japanese news story matters to expats. The AI filters for immigration, taxation, housing, healthcare, and policy stories that actually affect daily life.

03

Translation & Summarisation

Stories are translated and summarised into clear English, with links to original sources for those who want the full Japanese text.

04

Categorised by Topic

Visa & immigration, taxes, housing, healthcare, employment — stories are tagged so you can follow the categories that matter to your situation.
